lazy saturday
what a wonderful, lazy, enjoyable saturday we had today. evan and i painted, he watched voltron, played outside, and generally made a mess in the house. but that’s ok. we had fun.

and that it truly did extend to other things besides the knitting. apparently it *really* refers to blogging too. I adore the idea of blogging, i really do. i love cute, happy, up-to-date blogs, and am really jealous and in awe of how they keep it fresh and interesting every day! there’s no one here that i have to keep it fresh for, i write this and anything else just for me, but dang is all i’m saying. there are great, inspiring bloggers out there!
so i’m joining a ton of folks on ravelry, the loopy groupie board in particular, who are doing a knit-a-long with Dream in Color yarn. It’s soo pretty. I’m using Happy Forest in the worsted weight yarn-classy. The back panel is the first thing, and I’m about a third of the way through it….I’m trying to knit fast!
soooo…it’s been a crazy week. it started on monday when my boss announced that he was leaving vanderbilt. then, we’re getting busy because commencement is less than 90 days away. on valentine’s day i hosted some folks at the vandy suite at the sommet center.
on the way home from the hockey game (where the nashville predators lost 6-1), i got rear-ended. pretty badly. the car is a total loss. i’m sad…my 98 altima has been a good car to me, even when i haven’t been so good to it (it’s very dirty). so now i have to find a new car. i’ve searched the local carmax and driver’s way and have a few things i want to go look at, but i just wasn’t in the mindset to buy a new car…but i guess fate took that out of my hands!
i’m closing in on finishing my second pair of socks! Yea! I started doing a k1tbl-p1 ribbing and it was killing me! so these are going to be ankle socks!

poor, forgotten little blog.
missing and i’ve barely even started.
so, this is what my grandparents are getting me for christmas (even though they don’t know it yet…i always buy my own gift from them and then wrap it and put it under the tree):
isn’t it too cute! Click on the pic and it will take you to piddleloop’s etsy shop. I love the sheep. great little project bag and accessory bag. merry christmas to me!
Working on two pairs of socks for christmas…need to block my zebra shawl…but i’m scared! plus, i need to shorten those ties a bit…they look a tad strange.
we’re putting up the tree as I type…this is the earliest we’ve ever put up the tree and decorated the house.
i’m exhausted today from staying up until 2:30 knitting! i’m going to go back this morning and make sure i didn’t do anything stupid!
great thanksgiving. no rest over the weekend. bad day yesterday. it’s going to be monday all week.
evan is at the dr. as i type for a check up from last week’s allergy visit. he still is getting “sick” on the way to school, but the two are most certainly not connected.
I’m hoping to get some christmas schtuff up this weekend….evan is calling for decorations. i don’t blame him. i think i want the celebration to last longer this year too.
i said i wasn’t going to buy anything today, but I got a notice in my email box here at lazy knitter from Eat. Sleep. Knit. (which I had just found the day before from a cute ad at Ravelry). They’ve got a good selection of a few great yarns such as Cherry Tree Hill, Schaefer, Artyarns, Lorna’s Laces, Claudia hand-painted and Dream In Color-yum…Smooshy!
Being that I really don’t need a ton of yarn right now, but I love me some Smooshy so I picked up a skein to make rob a pair of socks. I had a ton of other stuff in my cart, but weeded it down to just one skein. one. why just one? I should have treated myself to several because my randomly-generated discount was 75%!!!!!! oh how i wish i had kept the schaefer’s miss priss in my cart. ah, well, next time I’ll have to take chances!
If you’re shopping today in real life, good luck, and may the force be with you.
what a happy thanksgiving we had. full of family (and food) and relaxation. now we’re just hanging out at home…watching some scooby doo and knitting (a great combo, by the way).
i have to chime in with a couple of cool gifts i picked up for DH to give me for christmas…a swift and ball winder and the coolest pair of earrings! yay for me and yay for him too. i get what i want and he doesn’t have to stress about wondering what that might be!
